The Legacy Of Kim Cattrall

Flipping through the guide on my cable box today, I came across Police Academy (number one in an impressive run of 7, one day possibly 8, movies).
Growing up in the 80’s and it being a laid-back Sunday and all, I had to turn it on for a second. I’d completely forgotten that Kim Cattrall was in it. Then again, I haven’t seen it since I was sporting parachute pants and Sergio Valente mesh knit tops purchased at Merry-Go-Round.
With the new Sex and the City movie out now, I took a second to reflect on Ms. Cattrall’s career (well, maybe two or three seconds to be fair). She had a good run with the Sex series, but man, her heyday was the 80’s. I never realized exactly how many quintessential 80’s movies I’ve seen her in. The IMDB link is for a full filmography, but here’s a quick list of the most important:
- Porky’s
- Police Academy
- Turk 182!
- Big Trouble In Little China (yes!)
- Mannequin
Bless her cotton socks… I never realized just how integral Kim Cattrall was to my 80’s pop culture youth.
