Box.net doesn't get it.
Just got an email from box.net introducing “new” features for online collaboration. My best guesstimate is that they are feeling the heat from drop.io, which provides this same functionality.
They don’t mention in the email, however, that these features they’re touting are for the “Individual” account (7.95/mo.) and not the standard Free account (10MB file limit/10GB per month bandwidth cap). Drop.io gives you 100MB, no signups, and a whole host of functionality (cool shit like fax receiving) for free. For 10 bucks you get 1GB for the whole year.
I hope the drop.io guys succeed and put services like box.net out of business. There’s no excuse to go to them or any other file service sites like Rapid Share anymore, so stop doing it!
