Wow… I was cleaning out some files on my computer and came across this old screenshot of a menu screen from a DVD I authored a long time ago for an independent movie shot in Milwaukee called Wishtaker. It was actually a pretty good short that garnered some attention after it was first shown at the Milwaukee Independent Film Festival and moved onto the film festival scene. It had a brief appearance by Mark Metcalf (best known as Neidermeyer in Animal House and The Maestro on Seinfeld), with a cast of other local Milwaukee actors.I guess the screenshot doesn’t really do it that much justice because it was a motion menu with water effects and the “Animatic” and “Behind the Scenes” links were motion loops, but I thought it was the shit at the time and now I think it looks just like shit.I did sneak in some easter eggs though, my favorite being the super hard to locate one on the main menu, only accessible if you watch it on a computer, that pulled up a simple title page with my name and the date I completed the disc. Guess the cat’s out of the bag now!The website for the film is still up here. I guess I don’t feel so bad about my work after going back and finding that…
