I’m not embarrased in the least to admit that I really like the Zune software/hardware. I have a Zune Pass subscription, and I take full advantage of it. After owning an iPod forever and using iTunes to manage my collection, moving to the Zune software/hardware platform was an eye opening experience for me. I’m not suggesting that iTunes is bad at all - just that I find the Zune software much more enjoyable to use. This is all personal preferrence of course. I am not an Apple basher, and I’ve used and enjoyed Apple hardware and software quite a bit over the years.
The device software is great, but the hardware has always been the weak side of the equation. I hope this device ends up being as awesome as it looks, because I’m totally dropping whatever cash it will cost to buy it when it comes out. I don’t care if it’s percieved as some knock-off iPod Touch. I don’t care if it’s still not cool. All I care about is my experience with my media, and I think this will push the Zune over the edge for me from regular awesome to fucking awesome! For the record, that’s a lot of awesome with an exclaimation point.
